In my Riven matchup course I will be giving you an in-depth blueprint on how to beat the matchups that you struggle with. Every matchup will be dissected into multiple parts: You will learn the theory of the matchup, approach the matchups from both perspectives, understand trade and all in patterns theoretically and then see everything played out through game examples. My goal is to ensure you don’t have to spend hours on mastering your matchups through trial and error and instead know what to expect and what to look out for after studying the matchup.
The challenge is that becoming proficient with Riven requires a larger time investment compared to other top laners, often up to 1000 games. If you play 20 games of Riven and 20 games of Mundo, you will be much more efficient playing Mundo over Riven. This isn’t only because Riven is mechanically difficult. Anyone can learn her combos with practice. The real challenge lies in understanding her matchups, which require more time investment to master. This is mainly because every matchup plays out different in trade patterns and order of skills used. In some matchups you want to initiate trades with E whilst in others you have to hold it until you commit to an all in, and learning all of this will require a lot of time.

When playing Riven we want to learn to get ahead in lane and snowball our position, not play to go even. By mastering her Matchups at a Challenger level you will be able to get ahead consistently even in your counter matchups. Take CONTROL Now
Covers a lot of small details you would otherwise have a hard time finding or knowing where to find. Everything is very easily rewatchable and it's really dependent on you if this information that's provided helps you improve. My advice is to just hardwire the information in your head and you'll seriously improve your laning. Knowing level-up timers and what minion on what wave gives levels, understanding every situation where different crashes are used gave me an unfair advantage.
I was really struggling whether the course is worth it or not. I peaked at Master tier last season and thought this might not be worth the price, but I was wrong. I find the course well-structured, easy to understand tempo-wise, and a good mix of visual and theory. This is a fundamentals course, and it teaches exactly that. I can already see my understanding has improved, I structure my thoughts more now and not play by feeling anymore.
I have taken the fundamental laning course. I must start this off by saying I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much from a course about anything. It’s supposed to be the basics, but it feels like such a haul of information. If you actually take it all in and think about the game the way Alois does, it can help you improve to the goal you want to reach. My first games after his course, I went from an average 7cs per min to 9+, peaking at 10.5 on Darius and Tryndamere. I recommend buying his course. He’s a G.
